The the world of collecting CollectAbles with an A and CollectIbles with an I are often confused. In many cases used interchangeability both correctily and incorrectily.
Collectibles are trinkets that were produced for the primary purpose of feeding the collectable market. Collectables on the other hand are every day items that were produced for a reason and later have become collectable.
As a general rule, collectibles are often trade show or advertising give-aways. Collectibles include T-shirts, hats, pens, keychains, mugs. You find much of the same stuff that can be found at any tourist trap.
Collectables on the other hand describes just about anything that could or would show up on a collectors or dealors table at a swap meet, including just about every kind of "Old" or "Rare" Collectible.
